 about brickthrewglass

Brick threw glass is a Movie review website. Brick threw glass is a metaphor I made up for film, the BRICK is the anamorphic shot blocking, and GLASS is the camera lens , the word THREW is a play on words, should have been thru but, I used the words THREW. This website reviews and critics films in a different way, using humor it also tries to interject some of my technical knowledge of how films are created and made into the process.

image: titlte: no spoiler reviews
OK “We don’t do spoilers”; it’s my policy to be very vague about the story lines of the films I review here. I have always hated reading movie reviews that tell to much about a film. Entering a theater already having preconceived notions about the plot and / or the outcome of the film in the past have ruined the viewing experience for me,so this is why  these reviews are written this way . More info about our NO Spoiler Movie Review!

Confessions of a Shopaholic : movie review Starring Isla Fisher, John Goodman, Joan Cusack, Krysten Ritter, Hugh Dancy
Isn’t this every girls dream to live in New York and be covered head to toe in Gucci, Prada and Burberry and have on some Jimmy Choo's ? This movie had some rather remarkable timing as the plot of a young woman (Rebecca Bloomwood) who can’t stop shopping coincided with the recession and the collapse of the housing market in the United States and the world for that matter. I’d like to say that I know this woman or one just like Rebecca Bloomwood; she reads fashion magazines and dreams of the perfect outfit and how good life would be in Dolce & Gabbana.
movie review 2.5 stars out of 4 stars : Confessions of a Shopaholic 2009

Confessions of a Shopaholic : movie review
Well this is the story of a writer so, I’m a writer so I have to be nice, and this is a well crafted script and a well acted movie. There is enough namedropping on the fashion side of this to please even the most serious Vogue magazine aficionado.. There have been allot of fashion inspired movies all kind of making fun of fashion in a way, but this one does it in a different way.  Confessions of a Shopaholic is cute; I know guys don’t like to say the world cute, but that the best I can come up with at 1 in the morning after watching this movie. This is a chick flick but, not an over the top lovey-dovey movie, this is a comedy and most people will relate to the characters, so it works on a couple of different levels.  Comedy | Romance 2.5 stars out of 4 stars
