 about brickthrewglass

Brick threw glass is a Movie review website. Brick threw glass is a metaphor I made up for film, the BRICK is the anamorphic shot blocking, and GLASS is the camera lens , the word THREW is a play on words, should have been thru but, I used the words THREW. This website reviews and critics films in a different way, using humor it also tries to interject some of my technical knowledge of how films are created and made into the process.

image: titlte: no spoiler reviews
OK “We don’t do spoilers”; it’s my policy to be very vague about the story lines of the films I review here. I have always hated reading movie reviews that tell to much about a film. Entering a theater already having preconceived notions about the plot and / or the outcome of the film in the past have ruined the viewing experience for me,so this is why  these reviews are written this way . X-Men Origins: Wolverine:: movie review

X-Men Origins: Wolverine starts as a young Logan is lying in bed with what looks to be the common cold, and his best friend victor is with him and his dad and there is a loud knocking at the door. Its victors father , Logan’s dad goes down to see what is going on and there is gunfire, horrified in seeing his father killer he for the first time morphs in mutant and kills victors father who in his last words tells young Logan that he is his real father. So the half brothers  Logan / Wolverine ( Hugh Jackman) and  Victor Creed / Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber) run into the woods to escape the local villagers who have discovered the body and chasing them. Then we cut to a series of scenes of the bothers fighting together in battles, the American civil war, world war one, World War 2 and the Vietnam War and the story is upon us, in full swing. We also get to find out how Wolverine was immersed into a tank within which Wolverine has his bones coated in indestructible metal adamantium , which include the claws that extrude from above his knuckles. The back story and the Chemistry between Jackman and Schreiber is very apparent and really works well, the acting is overall very well done and there are no slow spots in the storyline. There is a scene were Jackman as Wolverine takes out troops in hummer and a helicopter that are after him, the special effects and the music and cinematography is so well done, really world class stuff. I was never a big fan of the x-men series of film, I thought that characters and their mutant powers were kind of invented as they went along and didn’t follow any set of rules, their reality was not defined so there for kind of unbelievable ( even for a fantasy ). This film was more down to earth as to what was and was not possible and there for much more entertaining... Read More

X-Men Origins: Wolverine:: movie review tank

The back story was what really pulled me in, the story of the two brothers and their lives and the over mutants was very well scripted and Gavin Hood's direction was very well done, he is going to be a force to reckon with in the future. I’ve seen the other film over the years and this one is by far the best. There is enough of a story to keep you going and amazing special effects and a well polished finished product that I really enjoyed. I would hope that if this film is a huge success more X-Men Origins films are released..

“This the best X-men movie yet”
