 about brickthrewglass

Brick threw glass is a Movie review website. Brick threw glass is a metaphor I made up for film, the BRICK is the anamorphic shot blocking, and GLASS is the camera lens , the word THREW is a play on words, should have been thru but, I used the words THREW. This website reviews and critics films in a different way, using humor it also tries to interject some of my technical knowledge of how films are created and made into the process.

image: titlte: no spoiler reviews
OK “We don’t do spoilers”; it’s my policy to be very vague about the story lines of the films I review here. I have always hated reading movie reviews that tell to much about a film. Entering a theater already having preconceived notions about the plot and / or the outcome of the film in the past have ruined the viewing experience for me,so this is why  these reviews are written this way . The Proposal: movie review  year:2009
The Proposal starts as Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) is entering his office were he works as an editor’s assistant for Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is the executive editor-in-chief of a book publishing company. She is his boss and when she is asked to leaves the country because of visa problems she Demands that Andrew marry her so she came stay in the country. With a deal to make him a full editor, publish his book and a warning from the INS, they head off to Alaska when Andrew is from to tell his family. The first thing I’d like to say is this movie is well cast, every actor in this film just seemed to me to right for the part.

Next I think the big star in this film is the location of Alaska; there are some absolutely beautiful scenes in this movie, like giant postcards on film. Sandra bullock is really well cast and her ability to be a total bitch and also have a softer side is well portrayed, with a natural chemistry between her and her leading man Ryan Reynolds it works very well. They are some very funny scenes in this film too, with Betty White playing the Grandma getting in some well written humor.

The Proposal: movie review year:2009

There is a scene were Margaret and granny are dancing in the woods that had me rolling in laughter and was a defiantly a highlight.

This film was directed by Anne Fletcher who also directed 27 Dresses, does a fantastic job pulling the movie together, she is best known as a choreographer and I guess explains the dance scene I liked so much. This is a fun Romantic comedy with a good story and a great cast and crew to deliver the goods, and it just what it is suppose to be a “FUN SUMMER DATE NIGHT MOVIE”
