 about brickthrewglass

Brick threw glass is a Movie review website. Brick threw glass is a metaphor I made up for film, the BRICK is the anamorphic shot blocking, and GLASS is the camera lens , the word THREW is a play on words, should have been thru but, I used the words THREW. This website reviews and critics films in a different way, using humor it also tries to interject some of my technical knowledge of how films are created and made into the process.

image: titlte: no spoiler reviews
OK “We don’t do spoilers”; it’s my policy to be very vague about the story lines of the films I review here. I have always hated reading movie reviews that tell to much about a film. Entering a theater already having preconceived notions about the plot and / or the outcome of the film in the past have ruined the viewing experience for me,so this is why  these reviews are written this way . Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian:
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian: aka Night at the Museum 2
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is the sequel to the 2006 movie Night at the Museum, is stars Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria, Christopher Guest, Alain Chabat, Robin Williams .This story is about characters from  American Museum of Natural History that come to life  night powered by an ancient Egyptian tablet that has the powered to bring things to life. We find Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) as the head of Daley Devices and a successful inventor, he no longer works at the museum as the night watchman. He finds that the American Museum of Natural History is closed for upgrades and renovations, and the museum pieces are moving to the Federal Archives at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. They are not moving the ancient Egyptian tablet so many of the characters are not going to be running around the museum every night. Larry gets a call from Jedediah (Owen Wilson) when they arrive that Kahmunrah (Hank Azaria), Ahkmenrah's older brother (character from last movie) is attacking them and they are at the Smithsonian Institution with the ancient Egyptian tablet.
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian: aka Night at the Museum 2
He meets Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams), who is thrilled at the prospect of adventure and accompanies Larry. Meanwhile, Kahmunrah is able to recruit Al Capone (Jon Bernthal), Ivan The Terrible (Christopher Guest) and Napoleon Bonaparte (Alain Chabat) to help him capture Larry in return for sharing the world with him when he conquers it. Custer is locked up with the other exhibits from the American Museum of Natural History), meanwhile Jedidiah and Octavius (Steve Coogan) sneak out to help Larry and then Jedediah (Owen Wilson) is held captive till Larry can figure out the secret code to unlock the ancient Egyptian tablet’s power. Wow I did it; this is a complex story that was tons of historical references and charters from threw out history which is a kind of history lesson, which is cool for kids and adults’ alike .   Read entire review
This film is billed as a comedy and Hank Azaria’s character Kahmunrah has some great lines that would have been very funny if he wasn’t delivering them. There is some awkward comedic  writing , but the plot and the action inside the museum kind of make up for it and the use of more and better historical figures make this a cool movie. Amy Adams steals the show as Robin Williams takes a back seat in this film; she is really good as Amelia Earhart this adds some of the best lines to the film and some depth to Larry’s character with a love interest. I really like the use of the art museum with Larry and Amelia Earhart jumping in and out of famous pieces of art being chased by Kahmunrah’s henchmen. This movie has something for the whole family and the animation and special effects are top-notch, I just wish that it had a little better humor and I’m sure we will see Night at the Museum 3…
