 about brickthrewglass

Brick threw glass is a Movie review website. Brick threw glass is a metaphor I made up for film, the BRICK is the anamorphic shot blocking, and GLASS is the camera lens , the word THREW is a play on words, should have been thru but, I used the words THREW. This website reviews and critics films in a different way, using humor it also tries to interject some of my technical knowledge of how films are created and made into the process.

image: titlte: no spoiler reviews
OK “We don’t do spoilers”; it’s my policy to be very vague about the story lines of the films I review here. I have always hated reading movie reviews that tell to much about a film. Entering a theater already having preconceived notions about the plot and / or the outcome of the film in the past have ruined the viewing experience for me,so this is why  these reviews are written this way . More info about our NO Spoiler Movie Review!

The Hurt Locker :  movie review 2009
The Hurt Locker starts out with a crew of the U.S. army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal  (EOD) in a cleared out street in Iraq using a robot to try to see into what looks like a pile of rubble , but is really a Road side bomb. The tension mounts as they prepare to defuse it and we get to see a side of war not ever seem by most military, yet alone the general public. This is a dangerous job defusing bombs while in unfriendly territory and not knowing who the enemy is or if the people who made the actual bomb are watching really to make it explode.

Movie review Moon is a 2009 Science fiction

MOON  :: 2009 movie review  Moon is a 2009 Science fiction movie Directed by Duncan Jones and starring Sam Rockwell, about a man all alone on a lunar mining station. We meet Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) who is a man all alone on the moon, mining a new form of energy call helium-3 which was solved the world’s energy crisis.  He has a robot to keep him company named Gerty (voiced by Kevin Spacey), he then learns what’s really going on by chance and has to take steps to rectify it. This is a good not great film and since it’s All about Sam Bell, Sam Rockwell has to shine and he does. There is a back story and it works well to drive the plot, but it’s hard to have deep conversations between a robot and a solitary astronaut. Every time I hear Kevin Spacey’s voice I think of  Swimming with Sharks  and his character Buddy Ackerman but that’s just me, really if you think of that as the robot it’s really quite funny
