 about brickthrewglass

Brick threw glass is a Movie review website. Brick threw glass is a metaphor I made up for film, the BRICK is the anamorphic shot blocking, and GLASS is the camera lens , the word THREW is a play on words, should have been thru but, I used the words THREW. This website reviews and critics films in a different way, using humor it also tries to interject some of my technical knowledge of how films are created and made into the process.

image: titlte: no spoiler reviews
OK “We don’t do spoilers”; it’s my policy to be very vague about the story lines of the films I review here. I have always hated reading movie reviews that tell to much about a film. Entering a theater already having preconceived notions about the plot and / or the outcome of the film in the past have ruined the viewing experience for me,so this is why  these reviews are written this way . More info about our NO Spoiler Movie Review!

Director Danny Boyle, The artist MIA,This film won the academy award for best picture and best director
Slumdog Millionaire won the 2008 academy award for best picture and Danny Boyle for best director. From the first scenes of this film you are wondering what is this, and am I in the right theater. Slumdog Millionaire's Director Danny Boyle manages to tell this incredible story without the use of a narrator to help guide you though it. The TV show that the main character is appearing on is the narrator. As the story unfolds he is being tortured to try to get him to reveal how he is cheating. With the use of flashbacks to his earlier life our hero, and yes i'll use that word, describes to the local head police chief how the extraordinary events in his life have given him almost all of the right answers. As the story unfolds this boy becomes a young man ,with the help of a sound track full of The artist MIA { using music that should have been on her record, that is “in my option” despite its one hit song is mediocre at best}. These remixes which also won a golden globe and were nominated for an academy award, add to the movies allure greatly I really wanted to comment of the photography and shot blocking. There is some fast edits and actions scenes that are truly beautiful, they are not just the result of superior editing but required allot of vision and planning.

movie review Slumdog Millionaire. 2008 film dvd blu-ray : If you weren’t rooting for the underdog in the beginning you will be buy the end of the film.best director
They also have a sense of composition that is Hitchcockesk with opening shots to that give you a compass to navigate it with. . I guess to explain what I mean ,this works well for a 30-60 second television commercial, but not In the middle of a 120 minute movie. An example of this is “ Quantum of solace ” the latest James Bond 007 film. The fight scene in the construction site leaves you dizzy, asking oneself which way is up and did that just happen in the editing room or was it planed out in advance. Don’t get me wrong here, “quantum of solace “is a great film but I could have been the greatest Bond film ever… If you weren’t rooting for the underdog in the beginning you will be buy the end of the film. This film goes from a little "chai wallah" to "shot caller"  … 4 out of 4 STARS
